COVID-19 Compliance During Tryouts

By CFC Staff 06/25/2020, 3:45pm EDT

The following is guidance that we will follow with regard to tryouts and any kind of future training. You can find this and more information here (https://www.virginia.gov/coronavirus/forwardvirginia/faq/). If you feel as though this guidance is not adequate, then please contact us and we will make arrangements for you to be added to the club at a later date. You can also refer to executive order implemented by the Governor (https://www.governor.virginia.gov/media/governorvirginiagov/governor-of-virginia/pdf/eo/EO-65-Phase-Two.pdf).

Current Virginia Guidance

  • Indoor and outdoor recreational sports may occur if ten feet of physical distancing can be maintained by all instructors, participants, and spectators, with the exception of incidental contact or contact between members of the same household. This applies during instruction, practice, and during competitive events. Competition that involves close contact with other athletes must be avoided.
  • The total number of attendees (including both participants and spectators) of outdoor recreational sports cannot exceed the lesser of 50% of the occupancy load on the certificate of occupancy, if applicable, or 50 persons. For youth recreational sports, spectators may not be present except parents, guardians, or caretakers supervising children and other children in their care.
  • The total number of attendees for indoor recreational sports cannot exceed the lesser of 30% of the lowest occupancy load on the certificate of occupancy or 50 persons. For indoor recreational sports, spectators may not be present except parents or guardians who are supervising children.

Additional preventive measures

  • Players will not be asked to wear bibs (will avoid sharing anything)
  • Players should bring their own water and water bottles and not share.  We can bring a water jug with plastic cups for emergencies.
  • If any parent or player is concerned, tryouts are not required.  They can simply inform us if they want to play. Parents should use their judgement on attending.
  • We will ask for social distancing for parents while at tryouts and for Parent meeting/discussion after tryouts.

Also, if you want to become a member of the club but cannot make our tryouts, then contact us and we can add you to the club at that point. Please keep regularly checking back on our Facebook page. We are making every attempt to ensure your child’s safety during these unprecedented times.
